Step by step
- Find the channel strip in the mixer.
- Click ON to mute it. The button turns red and shows MUTE.
- Click again to turn it on. The button turns green again, showing ON.
The button colors
| Button | What it means |
|---|---|
| ON (green) | The channel is on. |
| MUTE (red) | The channel is muted. In the Advanced mixer the button also shows MUTE. |
| OFF (gray) | The input audio is disabled: it plays nowhere. Click to enable it. |
Muted until it goes to PGM
With AFV on, the input stays muted while it is not on PGM (what goes on air). When it goes on air, the sound turns on by itself.
If you want to turn the sound on earlier, click the button: it turns on right away.
Questions
What is the difference between MUTE and disabled audio?
MUTE cuts the sound in the mixer, and you turn it back on with one click. Disabled audio (the speaker on the thumbnail) takes the input out of everything: PGM, Preview and headphones.
