Save and open a project

Keep inputs, titles, audio and triggers in a project file and open it again whenever you want, including from the recent list.

Step by step

  1. Click the project name at the top of the window (the button with 📁).
  2. Click “Save (Ctrl+S / ⌘S)” or press Ctrl+S (⌘S on Mac).
  3. The first time, choose the folder and the file name.
  4. To open, click “Open…” or a project in the “RECENT” list.

The Project menu

Click the project name at the top of the window, or press Ctrl+O (⌘O on Mac). The menu has:

  • Save (Ctrl+S / ⌘S): saves to the current file. If the project has no file yet, it asks where to save.
  • Save as…: saves a copy with another name or in another folder.
  • Open…: opens an NWK project (.s360 file).
  • New: starts an empty project.
  • RECENT: the last projects you opened or saved. Click one to open it.

Knowing if you need to save

When there are unsaved changes, a dot (•) appears next to the project name, and the menu shows (not saved). If you close the program with changes, NWK asks: Save and close or Close without saving.

Opening another project while live

Opening another project does not stop the stream or the recording in progress.

What stays in the project and what stays on the computer

Triggers are saved in the project. Your keyboard shortcuts are saved on this computer and work in any project.

Questions

If I forget to save, do I lose everything?

No. NWK saves the session by itself and, when you open it again, it comes back as it was. Even so, save the project to have the file and be able to open it on another day.
