Warning that the frame rate differs from the project

The fps badge on the thumbnail blinks when the input does not match the project or arrives with fewer frames. See what to do.

The fps badge

Next to the number of each video input is its rate, for example “29.97p”. Hover over it to see how much the source sends, how much is arriving and the project rate.

  • Discreet badge: all good, the input matches the project.
  • Blinking badge with ⚠: there is a problem.

Does not match the project

The input sends a rate different from the project's. The program will repeat or skip frames, and motion gets small jerks (judder). Set the camera or source to the project rate, or change the project in ⚙ Settings › Project.

Fewer frames arrive

The source declares the right rate, but fewer frames are arriving. Check the cable, the USB port, the card or the network.

See them all at once

In ⚙ Settings › Project, the INPUTS OUTSIDE THE PROJECT RATE section lists the inputs with a problem. When everything is fine, it shows “All video inputs match the project”.

Questions

What rate should I use in Brazil?

The usual is 29.97 frames per second. Use the same on the cameras and in the project.
