The input shows a frame rate warning

The fps badge blinks when the input doesn't match the project or when fewer frames arrive. Here's how to fix it.

Step by step

  1. Hover over the fps badge on the thumbnail (for example, 29.97p ⚠).
  2. Compare what the source sends with the project rate.
  3. Set the camera to the project rate, or change the project in Settings › Project.

The fps badge

Each video input shows its frame rate in a badge, on the thumbnail and on the Preview and Program monitors. The badge is gray when everything is fine. When there's a problem, it blinks, changes color and gets the ⚠ sign. In the Classic skin, it turns red when the rate doesn't match and amber when fewer frames arrive. In the NWK skin, it turns amber in both cases.

When you hover over it, three lines appear: Source sends, Arriving here and Project.

The rate doesn't match the project

The picture will repeat or skip frames and may judder. Set the camera or source to the project rate. If most cameras use a different rate, change the project in Settings › Project.

Fewer frames arrive

The source declares the right rate, but not all frames arrive. Check the cable, the USB port, the card or the network.

See them all at once

In ⚙ Settings › Project, the INPUTS OUTSIDE THE PROJECT RATE section lists every input with a problem. The pre-live check also warns you.
