Add an NDI® source

How to receive the picture and sound of a camera or another computer over the local network, with NDI®.

Step by step

  1. Install NDI Tools, free, from NDI itself (ndi.video/tools), if you do not have it yet.
  2. Click + Add input › NDI (local network source)….
  3. Click the source in the list, or type its full name in Or type.
  4. Click Add.

NDI Tools is required

NDI® uses the free NDI Tools. Without it, the window warns you and shows the Open website button. After installing, go back to the window: the list appears by itself.

The list is empty

While it searches, the window shows “Searching for NDI sources on the network…”. Check that the other computer or the camera is on the same network. If you know the source name, type it in Or type, in the format COMPUTER (Output name).

Send an input over NDI

The opposite direction also exists: click NDI on an input's thumbnail to send it over the network as a source of its own, called “NWK · input name”. Click again to stop.

Trademark

NDI® is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB.
