Add a video

Step by step

Click ＋ Add input › Video….
Choose one or more files and confirm.
Each video becomes an input with a thumbnail.

Supported formats

MP4, MOV and M4V. You can also drag the files from a folder straight into the INPUTS panel.

Play and loop

On the thumbnail, use ▶ to play or pause and ⟳ to repeat (loop). Hover over the thumbnail to see the control bar, with time, frame by frame and the IN and OUT marks.

Mark just one part

Mark the IN and the OUT on the frame you want. The video then plays only the marked region, and the loop repeats only that. Reset plays the whole video again.

With the keyboard

With the video on Preview: Space plays or pauses, K pauses, L moves forward (again: 2×, 4×, 8×), J backward, I marks the in point and O the out point. The arrows move one frame.

Thumbnail preview

When the video is on air or on Preview, the thumbnail gets a player of its own, marked PREVIEW 🎧. Using it does not change the stream, and the sound goes only to the headphones.

Questions

Does the video's sound play all the time?

No. The video's sound goes on air when the video is on Program.

How do I change the file without losing the settings?

In the gear ⚙ on the thumbnail, click Change file… and choose another video. The name and the settings stay. The new file must be the same type (video for video).
