Step by step
- Open the destination with “Edit”.
- In the “9:16 · Vertical” box, turn on the switch and paste the vertical stream key.
- If the vertical uses a different server, check “The vertical uses another server” and type the address.
- Click “Save”.
- On the Program, drag the yellow frame to choose the part of the picture that goes to the vertical.
Mac only, for now
The vertical output is currently available only on Mac. On Windows, the 9:16 box does not appear.
What goes to the vertical
The vertical is an upright crop of the Program, with the transitions and overlays. A very wide lower third may be cut off at the sides.
Adjust the crop
When any 9:16 destination or the vertical recording is on, the 9:16 button appears on the Program and the crop mask shows up on its own.
- Easiest way: drag the yellow frame on the Program to the left or right.
- From the window: click 9:16 to open “Vertical crop (9:16)”. There you turn “Show the mask on Program” on or off and adjust the position.
General position and own position
The general position applies to all inputs. If a camera needs different framing, put that camera on air, open the 9:16 window and turn on Own position. After that, when you drag the frame with that camera on air, you change only its position. To go back to the general position, use the “general” button.
Questions
Does the vertical count toward the stream limit?
Yes. Each format that is on counts as one stream, up to a total of 8.
Can I record the vertical version too?
Yes. In the recording settings, check “Also record the vertical version (9:16), in a second file”.
