Use the Scheduling Player

The Scheduling Player plays a schedule of videos, images and live inputs, with fixed times, filler and stingers, like a TV station.

Step by step

  1. Click ＋ Add input and choose “Schedule player (daily playout grid)”.
  2. The Player window opens. Drag videos and images from the computer into the schedule, or use ＋ Media….
  3. Choose the MODE: Automatic, Assisted or Manual.
  4. Click ▶ START. The Player goes to PGM with a cut, if it isn't on air.

Build the schedule

  • ＋ Media…: videos and images. They go in after the selected item or at the end.
  • ＋ Live…: camera, CALL, NDI®, template, for a set time or until GO.
  • ＋ Pause: the schedule stops there and waits for GO.
  • ＋ Block: block header and end. Put the commercials between the two.

Each item shows how it goes on air, Cut or Fade: click to switch. Delete removes the selected item.

The three modes

GO ⏭ (G key) puts the next one on air now. ⏹ STOP stops the schedule and the picture holds on the last frame. ⟳ Repeat goes back to the first item at the end.

Fixed time

An item can have a fixed time, in HH:MM:SS format. Choose how it goes in:

  • ✂ Cut at time: goes in on time, cutting whatever is on air.
  • ⏳ Wait to finish: goes in right after the item on air.

If the schedule is running early, the filler plays until that time.

Filler

In FILLER, choose stingers, loops or station artwork. It plays when there is time left before a fixed time and at the end of the schedule. Without filler, the picture holds still.

Stingers F1 to F12

The STINGERS button panel has 12 buttons. Click an empty one to choose the file. Audio plays over; video or image goes on air and the schedule resumes where it stopped. With the Player window in front, the F1 to F12 keys fire the stingers. In the rest of the program, F1 to F4 are still the overlays. Right-click to replace, change the color or clear.

Preview and headphones

The PREVIEW plays only in the headphones, in PVW or L and R. IN and OUT points set there apply to the item in the schedule. Keys: Space, J K L, arrows, I, O, H for headphones, G for GO and Enter to put the selected item on PGM.

Back to the main screen

Click ⌂ Live Production (Ctrl+0 or ⌘0). The Player window stays open and the schedule keeps playing. To reopen it, click ☰ on the Player thumbnail.
