Put a remote guest on air with CALL

Step by step

Click “＋ Add input” and choose “☎ CALL (browser guest)”.
Give it a name, for example “Reporter” or “Guest 1”, and click “Add”.
Click “Copy link” and send it to the guest by WhatsApp, email or however you prefer.
The guest opens the link, allows the camera and microphone, types their name and clicks “Enter”.
When they appear in the thumbnail, put the input on air like any camera.

Copy the link again

Until the guest joins, the input's thumbnail shows the Copy guest link button. The link is also in the input settings, under “Guest link”, with the Copy button.

What the guest sees and hears

They get back the Program and the studio sound without their own voice, so there is no echo. In the input settings you can change:

The guest sees: the Program or another input.
The guest hears: the Master, or a channel just for them.

On the guest's screen

They can switch the camera and microphone, choose where to hear the studio, turn off the microphone or the camera, and leave. With the phone upright, the “Fill 16:9” button sends the picture sideways, filling the frame. Ask them to use headphones, if they can.

Generate a new link

In the input settings, Generate new link creates another link. The previous one stops working.

Questions

The guest cannot connect from a company network or from 4G.

In Settings › CALL, in the “Restricted networks” section, you can enter a range of UDP ports opened on the studio router. Follow the explanation on that screen.

Does the link change?

Before each event, open the input settings and check the link. If it changed, send the new one to the guest.
