Step by step
- Click an input's thumbnail: it appears in PREVIEW.
- Check the image in Preview. Nothing has changed on air.
- Click Cut to switch instantly, or Quick Play to switch with the chosen transition.
- The input moves to PROGRAM, which is what goes on air.
A click does not put it on air
Clicking or double-clicking a thumbnail only sends the input to Preview. That way you do not cut by accident.
Shortcuts on the thumbnail itself
Each thumbnail has two buttons to go straight on air:
- CUT: cut straight to Program.
- ⚡: Quick Play, the chosen transition to Program.
With the keyboard
By default, the Enter key does Quick Play. You can change the keys in ⚡ Shortcuts and Triggers.
How to tell what is where
The input number and the thumbnail border light up in the Preview or Program color. In the Classic skin, green is Preview and red is Program. The input name also appears above each screen.
Fade to black
The FTB button fades the whole Program to black, overlays included, over the transition time. Click again to come back.
Questions
Does Preview go to the stream?
No. Only Program goes on air, to the recording and to the outputs.
Can I do the transition by hand?
Yes. The T button, next to the transition time, shows the T-bar, so you can do the transition by dragging.
