Step by step
- On the channel strip, click FX.
- Open the EQ tab.
- Turn on Low cut and choose the Cutoff.
- Turn on the EQ on switch and adjust the bands. The curve at the top shows the result.
Low cut
The low cut removes very low sounds, like rumble, wind and bumps on the mic stand. Choose the cutoff frequency between 20 and 400 Hz. The default is 80 Hz, good for voice.
4-band EQ
EQ means equalizer: it boosts or cuts frequency ranges. Each band has Gain (up to ±18 dB), Freq. and Q, which is the band width.
| Band | What for |
|---|---|
| Low (shelf) | Body and weight of the sound. |
| Low-mid | Muffled or “boxy” sound. |
| High-mid | Clarity and presence of the voice. |
| High (shelf) | Brightness and air. |
Graphic EQ
In the Graphic EQ tab, turn on the switch and use the 31 small bars, one per frequency, ±12 dB each. Double-clicking a bar resets that band. Reset all sets them all back to 0.
