Use and change the default keyboard shortcuts

Step by step

Click “⚡ Shortcuts and Triggers” at the top of the window.
Open the “System default shortcuts” tab.
Click “Change” on the shortcut's row and confirm with “Yes, change”.
Answer the fields in the step-by-step and click “Save”.

Keys that come ready

Shortcuts work with the NWK window in front. The table shows the KEY, the FUNCTION, the INPUT, WHAT IT DOES and the STATUS (Default, Changed or Fixed).

Key	What it does
Enter and numeric keypad Enter	Panel transition, from Preview to Program
F1 to F4	Turns Overlays 1 to 4 on or off
F5 and F6	Point for home and for visitor on the scoreboard
Shift+F5 and Shift+F6	Removes a home point and a visitor point
F7	Starts or stops the scoreboard clock
Shift+F7	Switches possession or serve
F8	Next period (half, quarter, set)
F9 and F10	Home foul and visitor foul

Fixed keys

Rows marked Fixed cannot be changed and cannot become your own shortcut:

Key	What it does
1 to 9	Puts input 1 to 9 on Preview
Tab	Sends the Preview keyboard to Program and back
H	Switches what plays in the headphones: Preview, Program or both
Space	Plays or pauses the video; never cuts or transitions
J, K, L	With video on screen: rewind, pause and fast-forward
I and O	With video on screen: marks the start and end of the clip
← and →	With video on screen: steps one frame; with Shift, ten frames
Ctrl+S (⌘S on Mac)	Saves the project
Ctrl+O (⌘O on Mac)	Opens the project menu

A shortcut you changed shows as Changed (was …). To put everything back the way it came, click Restore and confirm with Yes, restore. The shortcuts in the My shortcuts tab do not change.

Questions

Why does NWK ask for confirmation to change a default?

People who use the program expect the key to do what it always does. The confirmation prevents an accidental change.

I want a new key. Do I change it here?

No. Create the key in the My shortcuts tab. The defaults stay as they are.
