Play, loop and mark in and out points of a video

The control bar below Preview and Program plays the video, loops it, marks IN and OUT and shows the elapsed or remaining time.

Where it is

When there is a video in Preview or Program, the control bar appears below the picture. The screen that doesn't have the keyboard is dimmer.

Buttons

ButtonWhat it does
⏹Stops and goes back to the in point
⏪ / ⏩Back or forward 10 frames (hold to repeat)
◀| / |▶Back or forward 1 frame (hold to repeat)
▶ / ❚❚Play and pause
INSets the in point at the current frame. Right-click clears it
OUTSets the out point (last frame played). Right-click clears it
↦ / ↤Go to the in or out point
ResetClears both points and plays the whole video again
⟳ LOOPRepeats the video. With a marked region, repeats only the region
🔊 / 🔇Frame-by-frame audio: a short snippet in the headphones on each frame, to mark by ear
⏱Large timecode on the picture

In small windows, the bar shows fewer buttons and short labels (IN, OUT). What disappears is still available on the keyboard.

Marked region

With an in or out point marked, play runs only the marked region. Below the bar, the region is shown in full, with the number of frames.

Elapsed or remaining time

Click the timecode to switch between count-up (time elapsed) and countdown (time remaining). Near the end of the video, the counter turns red.

Timecode on the picture

The ⏱ button opens Timecode on the picture. Turn on Show on the picture, choose the Count (Count-up, Countdown or Both) and the size. Drag the timecode on the picture to move it. It appears only on the program's screens and does not go to the stream or the recording.

Videos inside a template

If the template in Preview or Program has videos, a control appears for each one, marked AUTO (plays by itself when the template goes on air) or MANUAL (waits for play).

Questions

The Preview bar is red and won't move.

That video is on air. Control it from Program: press Tab or use the bar below Program.

Can I loop a video right from the thumbnail?

Yes. Each video's thumbnail has the ▶ and ⟳ (repeat) buttons.
