Choose what plays in the headphones

Hear Preview, PGM or both in the headphones, choose the mix that goes to them and set the volume without changing what goes on air.

Step by step

  1. In ⚙ Settings › Audio, on the Headphones (monitoring) row, choose the device the headphones are plugged into.
  2. Near the transition buttons, at 🎧, choose PVW, PGM or L and R. The H key also switches.
  3. In the mixer, next to 🎧, choose Master or an output.

PVW, PGM or L and R

ButtonWhat you hear
PVWPreview, the next input. Headphones only: it does not go on air.
PGMWhat goes on air.
L and RBoth: Preview in the left ear and PGM in the right.

Master or an output

In the mixer, the list next to 🎧 chooses which mix plays on the PGM side of the headphones: the Master or one of the outputs A–E that is turned on. Use it to check the mix that goes somewhere else, like the stage monitor. This does not change what goes on air.

Headphone volume

On the Master strip, the knob next to PHONES changes the Master volume in the headphones. It applies only on this computer and does not change what goes on air. Double-click it to go back to 100.
