Get to know the audio mixer: tabs and strips

What each mixer tab is for (All, Mixing, Media, Devices, Effects, Master) and what each strip has.

The tabs

The tabs at the top of the mixer filter the strips. The number next to each one shows how many strips it has.

TabWhat it shows
AllAll strips.
MixingThe console channels: the audio interface inputs you set up.
MediaThe sound of video inputs: videos, audio files and scheduling Players.
DevicesInputs with audio: microphones, cameras with audio, SRT, NDI and CALL.
EffectsThe effect returns (Reverb and Delay).
MasterThe Master, outputs A–E and the subgroups.

The Master strip is always on the left, in any tab.

What a strip has

  • Meter and fader: the fader is the sliding volume control. The value in dB appears below it. Double-click the fader to go back to 0 dB.
  • ON / MUTE: turns the channel sound on or cuts it.
  • AFV: audio follows video.
  • PFL: listens to the channel in the headphones, without changing what goes on air.
  • MST and A to E: where the channel goes (Master and outputs).
  • no group: the channel subgroup.
  • FX: opens gain, delay, EQ, dynamics, auto level and noise reduction. It reads FX ● when any processing is on.

Change the strip order

Drag the strip by its name and drop it on another strip in the same tab. It goes in front of that strip.
