Add color bars, a test signal or a solid color

Generators to line up monitors and sound, test the output or have a single-color background.

Step by step

  1. Click ＋ Add input › Generator (bars, solid color…)….
  2. Click the generator in the list. Each one shows a thumbnail of the signal.
  3. For Solid color, choose the Color.
  4. Click Add.

What is in the list

  • Color bars: SMPTE, to line up monitors and test the output.
  • Motion test: a moving ball, to check smoothness.
  • Bars with tone: Bars + 1 kHz tone, Bars + L/R identification (1 kHz on the left and 400 Hz on the right) and Bars + pink noise.
  • Sound only over black: Black + 1 kHz tone and Black + pink noise.
  • Picture: Bars 75%, Bars 100%, Gradient, Zone plate, Checkerboard, White and Image noise.
  • Solid color: a single-color background (black, chroma, brand color…).

Signals with sound show a ♪ note on the thumbnail.

Change the color later

In the gear ⚙ on the solid color's thumbnail, choose another Color. It changes right away.
