## What comes from the .vmix file

- **Cameras and audio**: Matched by device name on this computer.
- **Images and videos**: If the files are in another folder, you point to where they are.
- **Titles**: Become an NWK title with the same text.
- **Into the open project**: Inputs are added after the existing ones; nothing is deleted.

## How to import
- In NWK, open the Project menu and choose Import project (.vmix).
- Choose the `.vmix` file saved in the other program.
- If an image or video is missing, point to the folder where it is.
- Check each input before going live.
Some features of the other program may have no equivalent in NWK. In that case, the input comes in with whatever can be used.

## Control from Bitfocus Companion
NWK also accepts commands through the API that the Bitfocus Companion module already uses, for those who run the show from panels and button boxes.

## Mac and Windows
vMix is Windows software. NWK runs natively on Apple Silicon Macs and also on Windows 10 and 11. [See NWK on the Mac](https://nwkglobal.com/mac/).

vMix is a registered trademark of StudioCoast Pty Ltd. NWK is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by StudioCoast.

## Questions about importing

### Is NWK affiliated with vMix?

No. They are different programs from different companies. NWK opens .vmix projects to make switching easier for people who already have a project ready.

### Does it work on Mac?

Yes. Importing works on Mac and Windows.

### Does everything come across the same?

Cameras, audio, images, videos and title text come across. Features with no NWK equivalent are left out; check each input before going live.
