## Step by step

1. On the channel strip, click PFL. The button turns yellow.
2. Listen to the channel in the headphones.
3. To turn it off, click PFL again.

## What PFL is
PFL means “pre-fade listen”. You hear the channel in the headphones even with the fader down or the channel muted. Use it to check a microphone before opening it on air. The stream and the recording do not change.

## Volume of each PFL
Next to the PFL button there is a knob from 0 to 100. It changes only that channel's volume in the headphones. 100 is normal volume, 0 is silence.

- Drag up or down to turn it. With the Shift key, the adjustment is finer.
- The mouse wheel also turns it, after you click the knob.
- Double-click to go back to 100.

## Turn off all PFLs at once
With any PFL on, the Native mixer title becomes a yellow bar, PFL · clear. Click it to turn off all PFLs.

## Questions

### I turn on PFL and still hear Preview. Why?

PFL plays on the PGM side of the headphones. If 🎧 is on PVW, you hear Preview. Switch to PGM or L and R.
