# Put titles and images on top with overlays F1 to F4

The four overlays put an input on top of Program, such as a title, a logo or the scoreboard, without touching the main picture.

## Step by step

1. On the input thumbnail, click one of the buttons 1, 2, 3 or 4.
2. The input goes on top of Program in that overlay.
3. To take it off, click the same button again, press the overlay's F key or click the overlay under OVERLAYS (F1–F4).

## The OVERLAYS (F1–F4) panel
It stays fixed at the bottom of the middle column. Each button shows the number and name of that overlay's input. A lit button is on air. With no input, it shows empty.

Click the button, or press F1, F2, F3 or F4, to put it on and take it off air.

## Fade or slide
In the corner of each button there is an icon for how it comes in: ◐ is fade and ⇥ is slide. Click the icon to switch.

## Changing an overlay's input
Click the number button on another thumbnail. If the overlay is already on air, the new input replaces it with an animation.

## Questions

### The overlay button is dimmed and won't click.

The overlay is empty. Use buttons 1 to 4 on a thumbnail to choose the input.

### Do overlays change when I cut?

No. They stay on top of Program until you take them off.
