# Start and end the stream

The LIVE button starts the stream. To end it, NWK asks for confirmation, so nobody takes the live stream down by accident.

## Step by step

1. Turn on at least one destination in the settings (⚙ next to LIVE).
2. Click LIVE. The button lights up and the on-air time starts counting.
3. To end, click LIVE again.
4. When asked “End the stream?”, click “End”, or “Stay on air” to cancel.


## Ending does not stop the recording
When you end, all destinations go off air. The recording continues. To stop the recording, use the RECORD button.



## From the keyboard or Stream Deck
If you have a shortcut to stop the stream or the recording, it needs two presses within 2 seconds. On the first press, NWK shows “Press … again to stop”. That way, bumping a key does not take down what is on air.



## Closing NWK while on air
If you close the window while you are LIVE or RECORDING, NWK asks what to do:

- Close interface only: the stream, the recording and the external outputs keep going. Open NWK again to get back to the controls.
- Stop everything: stops the stream and finishes the recordings.

## Questions

### The LIVE button does not start the stream.

With no destination on, it opens the settings. Turn on or add a destination.

### Can I change the language while on air?

Yes. Only the text on screen changes; nothing goes off air.
