# Open an input's settings

The gear on the thumbnail gathers each input's name, source, reconnection and picture settings.

## Step by step

1. On the input's thumbnail, click the gear ⚙.
2. The Input settings window opens, with a live preview.


## What is in the window
- The input's Name.
- For a camera or card: Audio and Capture format.
- SOURCE: where the input comes from, with ⟳ Reconnect, Change device or Change file….
- Picture tabs: Color, Position and zoom, Crop, Chroma key, Color wheels and LUT.


## Takes effect right away
The settings take effect right away, even on air, everywhere the input appears: Preview, Program, overlays and Multiview.



## Back to default
Double-clicking a control returns that control to its default. The Restore button in each section returns the whole section.



## Inputs without all the tabs
Audio-only inputs have no picture settings. Templates and the Scheduling Player have only Color, Position and zoom and Crop.

### The gear is lit. Why?

The input has no signal. Open the gear to reconnect or change the source.
