# Fade the screen out with FTB (fade to black)

The FTB button fades the whole Program to black, overlays included. A second click brings the picture back.

## Step by step

1. Click FTB in the middle column.
2. Program fades to black over the transition duration. The button lights up and shows FTB ●.
3. To come back, click FTB again.


## When to use it
Use it at the start or end of the stream, or during a break. The black applies to everything that goes on air: stream, recording and outputs.



## Duration
FTB uses the same duration as the transitions' `ms` field.

### Does FTB hide titles and overlays?

Yes. It fades the whole Program, overlays included.

Yes. Create a shortcut with the fade to black function in Shortcuts and Triggers.
