# Use and change the default keyboard shortcuts

Which keys come ready in NWK, which ones are fixed, and how to change a default shortcut without losing the original.

## Step by step

1. Click “⚡ Shortcuts and Triggers” at the top of the window.
2. Open the “System default shortcuts” tab.
3. Click “Change” on the shortcut's row and confirm with “Yes, change”.
4. Answer the fields in the step-by-step and click “Save”.


## Keys that come ready
Shortcuts work with the NWK window in front. The table shows the KEY, the FUNCTION, the INPUT, WHAT IT DOES and the STATUS (Default, Changed or Fixed).

Rows marked Fixed cannot be changed and cannot become your own shortcut:

## Go back to the original
A shortcut you changed shows as Changed (was …). To put everything back the way it came, click Restore and confirm with Yes, restore. The shortcuts in the My shortcuts tab do not change.


## Questions

### Why does NWK ask for confirmation to change a default?

People who use the program expect the key to do what it always does. The confirmation prevents an accidental change.

### I want a new key. Do I change it here?

No. Create the key in the My shortcuts tab. The defaults stay as they are.
